List of Known Issues, Descriptions, Solutions, Timing

This is a current list of Known Issues in Scaler v3.1.2:

Issue Description Solution When will it be Addressed?
Scaler 3.1.2 added to Cubase / Studio One Blocklist on Windows After installing Scaler 3.1.2 update on Windows, Cubase adds Scaler 3 to the plugin blocklist. This is likely due to recent changes to Scaler’s handling of plugin windows and no cause for concern. Open the Cubase plugin manager, select the blocklist tab, select Scaler 3 and click reactivate. Currently being investigated
Error 2 message during plugin scan on Windows This is a Windows permissions issue regarding items within the Scaler 3 folder Assign full rights for current user to C:\ProgramData\Scaler Music\Scaler 3 folder via right click - properties - general - security tab. Or for temporary fix run Scaler 3 standalone app via right click - run as administrator No code fix planned – user config required
Windows Installation Failure – Path/Directory Creation Error Installation fails when trying to create or access C:\Users\Public\Documents, affecting both software installer and manual installation. Common errors include “Setup was unable to create the directory” or “The system cannot find the file specified.” This may occur when the Documents folder structure has been affected (e.g., after system migration) or due to permission issues. Note: In Windows Explorer, the correct path C:\Users\Public\Documents may display as “Public Documents” - this is normal. Primary: Disable OneDrive or see below article.Alternative fix: Open Command Prompt and check if the folder exists by typing: dir %public%\Documents (press Enter). If you see File Not Found, create the folder by typing: mkdir %public%\Documents (press Enter), then retry the installation. If the folder exists but installation still fails, try running the installer as administrator. No code fix planned – user config required

Activation Error - “Couldn’t Activate License” Some users receive an error stating, “Couldn’t Activate License: Could not read or write license file. This is a trial version of Scaler 3, you have 0 days remaining,” possibly due to OS permissions preventing file access. Currently being investigated
Certain Motions Incomplete Some Performances are incomplete in contrast to GUI representation. Currently being investigated
Cannot replace chords with non-1-bar lengths (unless dragging from main track) Chords cannot be replaced on the main track when they are shorter or longer than 1 bar in length – unless the replacement is dragged from the main track itself. A temporary workaround is to drag chords to an empty space in the main track first. Then replace/swap from there. Currently being investigated
Chord Follow Playing at Different Octaves Than Main Track In some cases, the Chord Follow Track may play chords in a different octave than the Main Track. Currently being investigated
