This is a current list of Known Issues in Scaler 3.0.5:

Windows 11 ARM Installation Users are experiencing installation problems on Windows 11 ARM devices. Currently being investigated
Activation Field Case Sensitivity Activation field incorrectly omits letters and adds numbers for some languages, causing activation failures for some users. 3.1 Expected mid May
Windows Installation Failure – Manual Path Conflict The manual fails to install to Users\Public\Documents on some Windows systems. Disable OneDrive or see below article. No code fix planned – user config required
Track Audio Output Muted with Certain VST3 Effects Audio output is muted when specific VST3 audio effects are added to a track in either VST3 plugin or standalone mode on Windows. Currently being investigated
Activation Error - “Couldn’t Activate License” Some users receive an error stating, “Couldn’t Activate License: Could not read or write license file. This is a trial version of Scaler 3, you have 0 days remaining,” possibly due to OS permissions preventing file access. Currently being investigated
Certain Motions Incomplete Some Performances are incomplete in contrast to GUI representation. Currently being investigated
With DAW Sync Off, Loop Causes Unresponsive Play/Stop on Plugin Reopen If an internal loop is playing with DAW sync turned off, closing and reopening the plugin makes the Stop button unresponsive and the Play button non-functional. 3.1 Expected mid May
DAW Sync not behaving correctly in 6/8 Does not Sync correctly in DAW Sync Play mode when time signature is set to 6/8 3.1 Expected mid May

Also some features confirmed for Scaler 3.1 expected mid May Include:

  • Main Track Live Sync - Syncs Main track across instances and DAWs
  • Batch User Chord Set Import - Ability to import several XML files at once and choose destination folder
  • Play Bar in MIDI Editor
  • Drag and Drop MIDI files

Instructions for a clean Install:

Mac - Clean Install:

  • Delete the standalone state file in this folder: /Users/[NAME]/Library/Application Support/Scaler 3.settings
  • Delete the personalised files in this folder: /Users/[NAME]/Library/Scaler Music/Scaler 3
  • Delete the shared user files in this folder: /Users/Shared/Scaler Music/Scaler 3
  • Reinstall.

Tip: The Library folder is hidden by default. To access it, open Finder, click Go in the menu bar, and hold the Option (⌄) key to reveal Library.

PC - Clean Install:

  • Delete the standalone state file in this folder: C:\Users[NAME]\AppData\RoamingScaler 3.settings
  • Delete the personalised files in this folder: C:\ProgramData\Scaler Music\Scaler 3
  • Delete the shared user files in this folder: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Scaler Music\Scaler 3
  • Reinstall.

Tip: The AppData folder is hidden by default. To access it, you can either:

  • Type %AppData% in the File Explorer address bar and press Enter to go directly to the Roaming folder
  • Or navigate to C:\Users[USERNAME] and make sure “Hidden items” is checked in the View tab

Users may also remove the actual plugin binary files for VST/VST3/AU/AAX. However if you reinstall with your DAWs closed, these should be overwritten when reinstalling.
