Hi @Canjo
I moved your recent post from Scaler 3 takes a long time to load a saved state in the standalone version - Mac to this thread.
Unfortunately, audio detection is not working on macOS in Scaler 3 v1.0.6. We’ve logged it as a known issue and it’ll be fixed in the 3.1 update, which is expected next week. The User Guide will also have expanded descriptions of Audio / MIDI Detect and Capture in the 3.1 update.
When audio detection has been fixed for macOS, here are a few ways to use audio detection with Scaler 3 in Logic Pro:
The simplest method is to insert the Scaler Audio 3 (Audio FX) plugin directly onto an audio track.
To use real-time audio detection:
- With the Detection popup open and Detect Audio selected, click the Record button. The button will flash, indicating that Scaler 3 is actively monitoring incoming audio data.
- Start playback from the desired point in your DAW’s timeline, or perform live audio through an instrument such as a guitar routed into the track.
- As the audio plays, Scaler 3 will analyse the content and display the detected chords in Section A, with corresponding scale suggestions in Section B.
- When you’re finished, click the Record button again to stop detection. The results will remain visible for further interaction, such as binding or editing.
Tip - in Logic, turn on Input Monitoring on the track (the “I” button") to hear sound from the Scaler 3 Audio version.
To use Detect Audio via file import:
- With the Detection popup open and Detect Audio selected, click the Folder button.
- A file dialog will appear. Navigate to and select an audio file from your computer.
- Double-click the file or click Open to import it into Scaler 3.
- Scaler 3 will automatically analyse the file and display the detected chords in Section A, with corresponding scale suggestions shown in Section B.
Alternatively, you can route audio into the Scaler 3 (Virtual Instrument) plugin using sidechain input, and then follow the real-time audio detection steps outlined above.
Cheers.
