Scaler 3,2 Stand alone freeze at start on Mac Silicon OS 15,7,1

Scaler 3,2 Stand alone freeze at start on Mac Silicon OS 15,7,1 What to do?

Also here on Windows 11 64bit. I started with the standalone just not to interact with the DAW, expecting potential troubles. Scaler 3.2 standalone did the scan of my 146 vst3 plugins, then the 1st page of the tutorial (1/40) came out, then the hourglass, it has been there for 45 minutes. As soon as I clicked windows alerted me to choose wether terminate the program or wait for a program’s answer. I waited another 10 minutes, then quitted. When I try again, the scan is skipped, but the hourglass on the 1st page tutorial is still there.

Came back here that i also tried the vst3. It works, I chose a bounch of chords, go to arrange and inserted some motions, changed sounds. but in the meantime Scaler 3.2 has crashed Cubase 13 Pr, 3-4 times. I had a brand new session with Scaler 3.2 only, and froze so Cubase saves a 3.2.01, 3.2 02 and so on. Last time Cubase even suggested to reinstall the plugin. Shall I do that?

Mine freezes on start as well. Same behavior as @fcarosone
I actually had this problem on the previous version as well, but never pursued a solution very hard. I would love to be able to have Scaler 3 open to experiment with song ideas while im working or playing games and don’t have full DAW open.

I do have a crap ton of VSTs if its trying to scan in background. If that is the case we need a way to skip VST scan before it tries to load the program.

During installation you have the option to skip the scan. It does not solve the freeze anyway.

Hi @Sturek, welcome to the forum. Please delete the Scaler 3 .settings state file, then restart your machine and see if that resolves the issue.
State file path on Mac: /Users/[NAME]/Library/Application Support/Scaler 3.settings

Hi @fcarosone and @hed0rah

Given your reports, it might be worthwhile doing a clean install of Scaler 3.2. Instructions can be found at the bottom of this thread. If the issue persists, please let us know. If possible, providing a Cubase crash report would be very helpful for our devs to investigate further.

Deleting the Scaler 3 .settings Worked for me! Great THanks!!

It worked for me as well on Windows, but here the file is in: C:\Users\[NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Scaler 3

To be precise: deleted the settings file, disinstalled Scaler 3, reboot PC, install 3.2. Now it works. I checked both the standalone and the vst3 in Cubase Pro 13 working fine. Although after 9 months from purchase, I’m not angry because Scaler 2 has been a great friend of mine in these months
