Suddenly it’s off doing its own thing, I’m not able to stop it, it’s unresponsive to keypresses and mouse clicks. Starts playing the sequence I’ve set up then just keeps on going through empty bars. Then suddenly it’ll go back to the beginning and repeat. Frustrating. Is there a kill switch to completely reset? The only method I’ve found is to close the app via the task bar.
Hi @exVista, sorry to hear and understand the frustration.
Just to confirm first: are you seeing this behaviour in the Scaler 3 standalone app, rather than inside a DAW?
If the app becomes unresponsive (ignoring keypresses and mouse input), one thing that would help us diagnose this is a copy of the standalone state file while it’s frozen. If you’re able to grab that and send it to me via DM, our dev team can take a closer look.
Windows state file path:
C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Scaler 3\Scaler 3.settings
(Note: AppData is hidden by default — you can type %AppData% into the File Explorer address bar to get there quickly.)
Once you’ve sent me a copy of the file (if possible), delete it and restart your machine. On next launch, Scaler will recreate a fresh state file and should run normally again.
Let us know if the issue persists after resetting the state file, or this behaviour occurs using Scaler 3 as a plugin inside a DAW. Thanks.
