minimize movement / chords cut off in suggest mode

When I select “Minimize Movement” in Suggest Mode, some of the suggested chords are cut off. These chords are still cut off when I drag them into the main track. On the Arrange page, however, they play correctly when I press play. Even if I drag the chords as midi from Scaler into my DAW. This problem occurs in Stand Alone as well as in Cubase 14.

I have attached an audio file in which you can hear how the chords are cut off. Minimized movement is disabled on the first chord.

Hi @deleteallcharacters and welcome to the forum. Have you downloaded the laters update from your Scaler Music account and installed and restarted? Let us know if the problem persists as we can’t replicate this issue.

Hi Davide, thank you for your quick reply. I installed the latest update, version 1.0.7, but have experienced this issue since the first version of Scaler 3.

Attached to this message is a video showing the problem. I hope this helps you analyze the problem. The small audio dropouts are due to the capture

software.

Ahh I think I found it, turning on Minimise Movement and playing suggested chords with no fifths or thirds plays them softly and cuts them off is that it? I have lodged this @Steven can we add to known issues please?

Maybe that’s just part of the issue. I made a new video in which you can see that chords without a fifth or third generally don’t seem to be the problem.

Thanks very much for the video and additional context - we’ve passed everything along to our dev team.

  1. Is this expected behaviour for Ideas when selecting Tonal. The second screenshot shows Ideas generated when selecting Per Scale.
  2. Audio for the ideas generated with Minimize Movement chosen chord audio is clipped. When Minimize Movement is turned off, the chord audio plays back correctly.
