Hi everyone!
I’m not grasping the significance of Suggest Mode - Auto Detect at all. I thought the suggested chords were already relevant. Why do we need to switch this on?
Also: I don’t understand why Minimise Movement changes some chords to completely different ones. For example: my selected chord in section C is F#min. With Minimise Movement off, one of the suggested chords is Dmaj7. If I turn Minimise Movement on, that chord is replaced by an F#min. How is that any use when F#min is my selected chord? I was expecting it to modify the Dmaj7 to make it sound better with my selected chord of F#min.
Hi @Tedness auto detect in the suggest window will run the scale detection process when chords are added to your main track. So it will update the list of scales shown in Section B, but will not change the chords which appear in the suggest window.
Minimise movement will suggest different chords when activated to avoid large jumps, but you can alternatively turn on voice grouping with the dynamic profile. This will adjust the voicings of all chords in realtime to maintain a consistent voicing, and similarly avoid large jumps regardless of whether or not minimise movement is selected.
Ah! Thanks @Tristan. For some reason the penny didn’t drop when I read the manual on Auto Detect.
Great idea re turning on voice grouping. I don’t know why I didn’t do that first. For some reason, I’m finding it difficult to get to grips with Scaler 3. Speaking of that, any word on the Official Scaler 3 Course yet?
