If you have an instance of Scaler 3 as an instrument in Logic, not a scaler control via MIDI FX, running in a loop (not synced to DAW) and close the plugin window, when you reopen the Scaler window, you no longer can control the playback of the loop. It just plays infinitely. The only control that you have is for the rewind control. It shows the play button, not the stop button and it doesn’t appear to react to input. Turning on Sync to DAW and the MIDI panic button have no effect.
Temporary fix for recovering the runaway instance:
Just create a duplicate track and it will create a new instance with the same settings. Then just delete the old track. The copy will behave properly.
I have not tried the control version to see if the same problem exists on that version of the plugin.
Current release of Scaler 3 and LogicPro on Sequoia 15.4.1 running on G4.
Hi @DavidK, thanks for reporting this. We can reproduce this bug and are currently working on a fix. We’ve added it to the list of known issues. Cheers.
When using Scaler 3 as a MIDI FX plug-in in Logic Pro, if the Scaler plug-in window is closed while Scaler’s Main Track sequencer is playing it continues to play. However when the plug-in window is reopened the Main Track Sequencer shows a play button instead of a stop button and there is no way to stop the Scaler sequencer. Disabling the Scaler plug-in in Logic stops it sending notes but the internal sequencer in Scaler keeps running. The only way to get Scaler 3 to stop playing once in this state is to quit Logic Pro.
