Hi folks.
Why does Scaler’s playhead keep moving when I press stop in DAW sync mode? Is it supposed to do that?
Thanks.
Hi folks.
Why does Scaler’s playhead keep moving when I press stop in DAW sync mode? Is it supposed to do that?
Thanks.
Hi @Tedness, no this should not be happening. But it is not something I have ever seen happen before. Just to be clear, can I assume:
This is not something I’m able to reproduce. Doe this happen every time you play your DAW in DAW sync mode? Aside from rebooting your computer I’m not sure what else to suggest I’m afraid.
@Tristan that’s correct. DAW sync is enabled. Please see below.
I begin with playback stopped in Logic. I then press play in Logic and everything syncs as expected. When I press stop, Logic stops, as does audio playback, but the Scaler leader’s playhead keeps going. Strangely, the follower’s playhead stops as expected!
Restarting my computer didn’t do anything.
Another intermittent issue I’ve just noticed: When the Scaler follower is in focus (white line around the GUI), I can press play and stop in Logic and everything plays and stops as expected. Sometimes, when the leader is in focus, pressing play and stop in Logic doesn’t work!
I created a new project, but can’t replicate any of this in the new project. However, clicking Scaler’s Scaler’s undo button just crashed the new project
Hi @Tedness so it sounds like the issues you were describing are only occurring in one Logic Pro session. Unfortunately I don’t have an explanation for this. There are many Logic Pro users in the Scaler community including the Scaler Music team and we’re not able to replicate these issues. If you haven’t performed a clean install since updating to version 3.1 that is advisable. Especially given the undo crash you mentioned.
@Tristan thanks. I have another post in the bug section about Scaler 3.1 opening and closing very slowly in standalone and in Logic, compared with Scaler 2. Is it possible the issues are with Scaler 3.1 and not Logic? Should I try reinstalling Scaler 3.1? Can I just run the installer again, or do I need to uninstall it first?
Hi @Tedness it is advised to perform a clean install rather than simply reinstalling if you are experiencing issues. There are only a few files to be manually deleted:
