Cannot Register Scaler 3 Upgrade (Win)

Bought and paid for Scaler 3 upgrade on pluginboutique (Windows). I’ve been with Scaler since version 1. Inside Cubase, Scaler 3 will not accept the registration code offered by pluginboutique, and says Scaler 3 will stay in ‘Trial Mode’ for the next 14 days.

Hold on, I bought and paid for Scaler 3 upgrade? What’s going on?

It’s disappointing. Scaler 3 projects such an air of professionalism but then stumbles over something as basic as customers’ access to the products they’ve paid for. Come on—do better.

Hi @CalUKGR Have you checked the installation instructions? The code you get at PIB is a redeem code you use to register and receive your serial number over at Scaler Music. Please follow the installation instructions in your plugin boutique account.

Thank you. Scaler 3 registered. I don’t know, but maybe make it more evident that the initial redeem code is not the actual serial number (there will be more steps to go). I’m slow like that. But thanks for the pointer. I’m looking forward to spending some time with Scaler 3.

I am having difficulty registering with the code that I was given, I bought scaler 3 from PB and redeemed it with the code they gave me here and got the same serial number without redeem- in it, when I paste it into the registration box in the vst it just says “Couldn’t Activate Licence: Could not connect to activation server This is a Trial Version of scaler 3, you have 2 days remaining” I have tried getting in contact with PB and Scalermusic but they just tell me the same thing and blew me off

The activation process for Scaler 3 does require an active internet connection, so please check your connection and if necessary disable and ad blocking or firewall software that may be interfering. Note that an internet connection is only required during the initial activation and Scaler 3 will operate offline once this is complete.

If you continue to see an error message, try the following steps and reboot your computer and try the activation again. If the issue persists please submit a support ticket via your Scaler Music account page.

  • Try activating the standalone version instead of the plugin
  • Connect to a different network, and try again
  • Connect to your mobile network, and try again
  • Connect with a VPN and try again
  • Momentarily turn off your virus-scanner, and try again.

I am a tech I am pretty sure I know what I am doing, however, this is a bug issue on your end not mine
