Using iPad version: Up to measure 30, if I tap on a measure number the position marker will move to the measure and will display, for example 29.1, the first beat measure 29. However, if I tap on measure 31 in the timeline the position marker will move to the second beat but will display as 31.1. If I try to drop a chord on the first beat of measure 31, the chord lands on the second beat and leaves a gap between measures 30 and 31. If I try to slide the chord over to the left to remove the gap, it just jumps back to the second beat. All succeeding measures after 30 behave this way.
Hi @dwcrook thanks for the report here. Would you mind please confirming that you have updated to the new Scaler 3.3.1 version?
Also you look to have a division setting of 1/4 (top right of the arrange window). Can you try changing this to 1 bar and seeing if it resolves your chord placement issues?
I can confirm that I am using version 3.3.1, I can’t go back to the the file that caused the issue because I overwrote it. I deleted chords in the sequence back to a position where the problem disappeared. It seems that the actions that caused the issue in the first place was dragging a chord and then tapping the track to copy it. At the moment I tapped the track the copied chord was on beat 2 of the new measure and somehow Scaler decided that was the start of that measure. In any case, having the division set to 1/4 should allow dragging or inserting at any beat in a 3/4 time signature. The Indication was that the time line was in 3/4 but the track was behaving as it were 4/4. If I can reproduce the issue I’ll try changing the division to see what happens.
I tried changing the division to 1 bar and then I was able to drag a chord that was hopelessly spilt between 2 measures back to match the timeline, This seems to confirm my suspicion that there is a bug at play here. As I previously said, with the division set to 1/4 you should be able to drag or insert at any quarter measure. This is true when the timeline signature is 4/4, but when the time 3/4 and the division is set to 1/4, Scaler seems to want divide the measure into 4th (dotted 1/8 note?) instead of quarter notes.
