I may be misunderstanding Scaler here, but it appears that everything is based off of chords. For example, adding any sort of motion to the Arrange page only generates output if there’s a chord in the main track. I don’t immediately see a simple way to add a track that just has a melodic phrase that isn’t locked into the current chord.
I’ve watched several of the new videos and read through the manual, but it’s quite possible that it was covered and I missed it.
