Scaler 3.1 How to change the 'phrases' for a few chords in the chord progression?

So I have 9 bars for verses (Phrases:Chordal2) and for the 8 bar chorus I’d like to change it’s phrases and then return for the next verse.

Not sure how to do this or if even possible.

If I’ve understood you correctly this is a basic functionality in Scaler 3. You can create another clip, use the scissors tool to cut the clip and then just select a different phrase for any of the clips.
Please check our tutorial videos here:

Close, and I have watched many of your informative videos (great stuff). However;

Lets say I have 1 Main Track, for simplicity

First 3 chords repeated are for verse: Am | E | D
After, 4 chords are for chorus: F | C | G | Am

Am | E | D | Am | E | D | F | C | G | Am

– verse1 – – verse2 – – – chorus – –

For the verse I have a phrase set but,

In the main track I want to have the chorus assigned to another phrase.

I have no other tracks in arrangement tab at the moment.

After watching the video again you show splitting on child tracks and changing much but not example of doing that to the main track.

Oh I think I understand. The global motion cannot be changed on the main track. its global and works everywhere including BIND triggers. You can set up a child track and just change there. Hope that helps.

I’m sorry, but I am a compete beginner with Scalar and I have no idea what a ‘chip track’ is?

Is there some document or video showing step by step how to change the phrase for the last 3 chords of a main track?

The main track is where you work out your progression. It is the red thread that goes through all the different tabs: “Browse page”, “Create page” and “Arrange Page”. In the arranger you add child tracks. What you were using is the global motion option which is a relic from Scaler 2.x and for your needs not flexible enough. Anyway, there are lots of videos and a complete manual you can refer to before asking your questions here.

That being said. I wouldn’t recommend using Scaler as a DAW. That is what DAWs are made for, and they are a hell of a lot better in this regard. I see Scaler as an idea development tool. And the next step from there is to develop these ideas further in your DAW.

When I cut a chord with the scissors tool in Scaler, the rhythm of that chord doesn’t continue as it was. Instead, it starts playing the rhythm from the beginning again, as if it’s re-reading the phrase. Also, the rhythm of the following chord changes as well. Is there any fix or setting for this?So basically, isn’t there a way to lock the rhythm patterns and cut without changing them?

Not sure what you are suggesting here but child tracks as we like to call them (everything but the main track) can be a longer clip and still follow the chord changes without restarting a motion. Cutting a motion (child track) clip re-triggers that motion.
