Having a different phrase or performance on each chord in a progression?

Is there a way to vary the motion/performance for each chord rather than having the same phrase or arpeggio play on every chord? It ends up sounding somewhat mechanical and unnatural - a pianist tends to introduce some variety into how they phrase a performance. I would like to be able to introduce more variation in how a chord sequence is performed.

They had a mechanism for doing it in Scaler 2 but I personally didn’t like the workflow.

You can do it with the arrangement page by having a new section on the piano roll. It is still a bit awkward as you can only have one pattern on a track. It just doesn’t really work with the main track. You will be better off muting it and doing everything with the arrangement tracks.

You can use the scissors tool to cut where you want the pattern and where you don’t.
If you have a lot of variety, you can end up with a lot of tracks.

Personally, still prefer doing it in the DAW track by using the scaler instance main track, changing the pattern, and dropping that into the track.

Thanks for your advice! Seems like this is the most practical approach:
