Hey Davide and team. Congrats on v3.
No questions that It is great that Scaler added vst support. However, vst support also introduces quite a bocow. And in that big ole can of worms, you will find all kinds of challenges. While I believe the Scaler team has their eye on this topic and will introduce better managment tools in the future, I’m hoping some low cost transparency features will go a long way in the short term.

  1. List (in the UI) all directories being scanned, not just the “custom” directories. Hot link those listings
  2. A report that lists all vst info including: directories to be scanned, directories scanned, files accepted, files rejected, duplicate files and file that could not be scanned.

Pretty simple and would help address many headaches.

Nice to hear from you @TMacD and thanks for the good vibes and feedback. We are working through those can of worms and definitely think we should continue to do so. Appreciate the specific feedback. It is noted!

Thanks Davide. In some ways, I answered my own question this morning using some AI analysis. I dropped the log file from the VST Scanner into an AI and asked for an analysis and summary of the data. What I got was an outstanding report that addressed almost all my needs. This might be worth noting while you guys think thid through. If you are curious about any of the details PM me.
