Hi everyone
I have been trying since launch day to scan with no success, plug-ins and instruments. I don’t understand why this is a problem. I receive no plug-ins found messages though I can clearly see thier names wiz by during scan. I’ve reinstalled scaler three times and pointed it to other folders named VST’s where this time scaler had found the plug-ins but gives me an error message when the scan is complete. I use these plug-ins in Studio One ,Mixbus 10, 9 ,8 even Cakewalk software from 10 years ago finds all my plug-ins and any other program upon installation finds my plug-ins and VI no problem. This has never ever been a problem in the past.I don’t quite know what to do. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I’m running Windows 10 Pro , DAW PC build more than capable don’t quite understand why scaler three cannot find the plug-ins successfully it should not be that difficult and this time consuming . Love Scaler since it was first introduced and will continue to use it . thank you
Does this have to do with a custom folder location? Are they VST2 plugins? Can other users help please? @Tristan
Hi
No this does not have to do with custom folders. I have been using this computer for 5 years and all my software and plugins are on the C drive. Every DAW or software VI and plugins I purchased over the years have worked flawlessly with each other.. never have I had issues with installing, and having software not be found in every DAWI own. never have I had to figure out what folder my plugin or VI is in . When I first installed Scaler three I Let it install and put things where it wanted upon scanning for plug-ins it told me no plug-ins were found. I since then reinstalled scaler 3. 4 times pointing it to every VST plug-ins folder that is on my C drive in which it does find plug-ins but then produces an error so there’s no winning I’m still puzzled with this it should not be this difficult
Thanks Rick
According to my log file Scaler 3 searches for VST2s here:
C:/Program Files/VSTPlugins
C:/Program Files/Steinberg/VSTPlugins
C:/Program Files (x86)/VstPlugins
C:/Program Files (x86)/Steinberg/VstPlugins
And VST3s here:
C:/Program Files/Common Files/VST3
C:/Program Files (x86)/Common Files/VST3
I believe that the answer to this problem is as @davide has suggested, is linked to custom plugin folder location. The devs at Scaler 3 really need to provide the opportunity for us to select such a location in any future updates, and not have these plugins selected automatically by the programme.
