Using Dropbox as a cheap CDN is a TERRIBLE engineering decision. I hope this isn’t a reflection of the quality of engineering we can expect from Scaler 3.
I’ve never used Scaler before. But when they announced Scaler 3 and pre-paid for it right away.
…and all I get is a broken Dropbox link. What a goofy roll out.
Had same issue, went back to plugin boutique and was not redirected when downloading this time, download completed and now in setup. I guess you just try both until you get a download slot.
Had difficulty with scaler 2 so never used it, but I think I’ll do better with this one as stand alone with arrange page.
Looking forward to it.
Same issues here. I, too, have raised a ticket with Scaler. I guess they will have a very busy day. I also purchased my upgrade from PB from SC2 to SC3. Why anyone would need to use Dropbox to distribute a product these days is beyond me. For a piece of software like Scaler that is so well designed, maybe more attention needs to be paid to how it’s distributed. It’s like getting the toy you wanted for Christmas, but it didn’t come with batteries, and the shops don’t reopen until after Christmas.
This works: For Plugin Boutique users:
(Use Plugin Boutique for download & Scaler 3 for license)
If you have already used the Plugin Boutique redemption code at Scaler 3 and have the license from Scaler 3, you can use the “download link” at Plugin Boutique to download Scaler 3. Use the Scaler 3 product page license from Scaler 3 after installation.
Having the same problem here, I have to go to Dropbox, which is a little strange for a product distribution. This should be addressed by Scaler. Not seeing any information from them about this issue.
I get that there are problems with to many requests.
But there is no post saying, “Guys be patient, were working on it”
That would help me a lot, now I am clicking that link every minute in the hope I get through.
im dealing with this too and am honestly baffled at how horrible this whole rollout is.
Hosting your installer and software on dropbox makes absolutely no sense when they are known for limits and issues like this and aren’t even technically designed for hosting this type of mass software download.
As someone who pre-ordered the software and has been very excited for release day, I couldn’t be more disappointed with how it is being handled and hope they generate a new link or fix this asap.
