Thank-you for the 3.1 update, I am giving version 3 a go again and it is nice to see the midi-drag working now :o)
Two Qs… likely daft ones, sorry…
in the SKETCH section, having selected a Motion for a chord progression… how do I subsequently un-select a motion? Go back to the raw, plain chord progression that I started with? I can only find ways to choose an alternate Motion.
in the COLOURS section, am I able to manually add/remove notes to/from a chord with the keyboard at the bottom of the page? It doesn’t seem to do anything other than play the note I press.
Apart from that, I am now able to work with Scaler 3, and am hoping I get used to the new layout soon… currently it is still a bit of a struggle compared to good old Scaler 2… no doubt I’ll get used to it :o)
This is not currently possible but it is an interesting suggestion I do not think has been proposed before. Currently only main track motions can be disabled. I’ll lodge this for a possible future update. For the moment you can move the chords to an unused Sketch page progression lane.
This is not possible directly from the Colors page. Only main track chords can be manually edited. So you will need to drag the chord(s) to the main track first, then move to the Circle of Fifths page, or right click the chord and choose edit. Then chord notes can be edited using the keyboard. Or this can alternatively be done using the MIDI editor on the main track.
Workaround for clearing motions in Sketch section: Drag your selected chord progression to a spare progression slot on the Sketch page. Select and delete ALL the chords from the original chord progression slot. The motion on that slot then reverts to the initialised Motion setting (i.e. no motion). If need be, move your copied chord progression back to the initialised slot. Hope that works for you.
Sorry Tristan, I gate-crashed your reply to Keith. Supplemental to his original question, however, I found that the Motions in some of the populated Progression slots on the Sketch page inherit their Motion setting from the Motion setting on the Main Track. From a compositional perspective, the different progressions on the Sketch page should be valid to play with their own Motions independent of the Main Track. After experimenting with saving presets, restarting Scaler 3 plugin and restarting DAW I found quite a lot of bugs in the programming. If these are not known issues then I guess I will write them up on the Bug page
