I have updated to version 3.1.2 but the standalone still shows as previous version? Is this done separately some how? Thanks in advance.
Welcome back @PeterLeese
Can you provide the information about your OS and post a screenshot with version number please?
Had same problem, reboot fixed it
Hi Frank tried but to no avail.
Hi Micci, do u mean uninstall and start afresh?
I’ll send the version tomorrow when I am back in my studio.
Yes, exactly. Plus remove some files manually. I find them when I open my PC. I am on tablet now.
OK, this is what a clean install looks like:
Uninstall the current version (System…Apps…Installed apps)
(you will see your current version)
-
Click on the three dots and select Uninstall
-
Delete the standalone state file in this folder:
- C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Scaler 3\Scaler 3.settings
-
Delete the personalized files in : C:\ProgramData\Scaler Music\Scaler 3
-
Delete the shared user files in this folder: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Scaler Music\Scaler 3
-
Reinstall.
-
Reboot
Hi Miki,
Done that. Unfortunately it has once again loaded the new version but the standalone still remains the same?
When installing again the list came up asking which elements I wanted to instasll which included the stand alone version but it still loads as the orig version from April 25 when I first installed it.
Regards, Pete
Hi @Miki, no I have not encountered nor heard of this reported before.
@PeterLeese Are you saying that the plugin version of Scaler 3 has been updated to v3.1.2, however the standalone version is still saying 3.1.1? As Miki mentioned it would be great if you could please post a screenshot of the Scaler 3 About/Help window to confirm the version number when running standalone.
Also note that Scaler v3.1.2 introduced a mute tool on the Arrange page. So if you can see this icon it indicates that Scaler has been sucessfully updated to version 3.1.2.
Ho Tristan just a thought but if I have missed a previous update would this have any effect on matters?
Hi @PeterLeese no that should not make any difference. Each Scaler 3 update is a full installer that requires no previous installation. Also if you have performed a clean install as suggested by Miki it does not matter that you missed a prior update.
Thanks Tristan. So where do we go from here? Is there a possible way of downloading the standalone on its own?
Hi Peter, no there is only the one Scaler 3 installer for all versions. However I was still waiting for your response to the following:
Hi Tristan,
As requested I attach screenshot of my PC version of Standalone Scaler3 and, as you will see, it doesn’t have the mute button. Exactly the same on my Laptop? Thanks for your help.

Not scientifically proven
, but…
At some point I had problems with one version of standalone in beta, I believe.
I could not fix it in any way, so I uninstalled the current version (full install with manual delete of all files, as usual), then I installed just the previous version of everything, full uninstall, found the current version (the one that caused me trouble), installed it, reboot, and everything started working.
So, if you find the version 3.1.1, do all I indicated, and finish with 3.1.2, maybe this could work.
I’ll give it another go. Thanks Miki
Hi Miki. No joy I’m afraid. I have noticed however that when I uninstall both my previous and current versions as u suggested the standalone remains remains untouched. It is though it will uninstall the main vst version but not the standalone
Very confusing! Also I originally purchased via plugin boutique could this affect?
Hi @PeterLeese. Your screenshot of Scaler 3 standalone shows a very old version of Scaler 3. Possibly the launch version, if not an earlier beta. Did you install a beta version before purchasing Scaler 3?
When you run the Scaler 3.1.2 installer it is likely installing a second version of Scaler 3 alongside your older version. so you will need to find where this old version is installed and manually remove it. It would uninstall Scaler 3 (which will only uninstall version 3.1.2, not the older version), then search for any trace of Scaler 3 on your computer and delete it.
