SINE Player in Scaler 3.3.1

Bugs in Scaler 3.3.1

  1. When I have selected a VST3 plug-in (e.g., Kontakt 8 or SINE Player) for audio output, I am unable to scroll within the plug-in—and thus cannot select a new sound—after changing sounds a few times. Instead, a list within the Scaler interface scrolls.

  2. When I drag and drop the chord sets displayed in Sector A into Sector C, the chords sometimes do not land at bar 1 but rather somewhere much further along, requiring them to be manually moved back to bar 1.

Hi @WolfgaangES We don’t have these issues. Can you elaborate on which DAW / Platform you are using and elaborate on what you are doing so we can try and replicate? A video or screenshot is always helpful too.

Hi Davide. I am using Ableton Live Suite 12.4.3 on a Windows 11 computer.
The VST3 plug-in Scaler 3.3.1 (build d4049a0) is loaded on the first track.
I open Scaler, select the “New Session (Default)” template, and swap the “Felt Piano” for the “SINE Player” in section C. The SINE Player interface appears.
I want to use the mouse scroll wheel to select the desired instrument from the SINE Player library, but the scroll wheel does not work, and I remain stuck on the first instrument in the library. Within that instrument, I can navigate normally with the mouse and view or load articulations. However, I cannot get past this initial SINE Player screen.
I was unable to reproduce the second problem I described yesterday.

Hey @WolfgaangES Have you tried googling ‘SINE Player GUI not scrolling’? I just did and there are several issues and fixes. These are not issues relating to Scaler 3.

Hi Davide,
The problem I described can be worked around by making the scroll bar visible in the SINE player and dragging the scroll handle with the mouse.
Interestingly, the mouse scroll wheel doesn’t transmit its movement to the SINE player but rather to a scroll area in Sector B or Sector A of Scaler 3.
Specifically: the focus is on the SINE player, and the mouse cursor is positioned over the scroll area. When I move the scroll wheel, the scroll list in Scaler’s Sector A (on the right) moves instead.
This phenomenon occurs not only with the SINE player but also—in the same way—with the Kontakt 8 player when I try to select a preset using the scroll wheel.
