Should the Browse Page sync to the timeline?

I have Scaler 3 Synced to Studio One. If I add a chord from the Browse Page to the Main Track, it always adds it to measure 1, regardless of where the playhead is. Shouldn’t this follow the Main Track from The Arranger page?

HI @humanzoo Welcome to the forum. Not sure I completely understand here but I presume you mean if you right click and ‘Add to Main Track’? That will always add to the first available position in the main track. You can always Drag and Drop it to any position in the Main Track. Does that help?

Thanks for the reply. I have Scaler 3 synced with Studio One. My son only has keys in the chorus which begins at bar 20. The DAW is at bar 20 and the Arrange page playhead is at bar 20. I click to the Browse page and create a chord sequence and return to the Arrange Page. That chord sequence it always at Bar 1. I understand it can be moved but I am curious why it doesn’t drop at the playhead location. The default workflow seems fine if you are going to use Scaler 3 from start to finish, on every bar in the song. I am getting around it now by inserting a chord the length of the empty space, in my example that is 20 bars, and muting it.I feel like the Main Track on the Browse page should follow the main chord track timeline on the Arange page. I have used Scale 2 for many years but am very new to 3, Am I missing something?

Yes I think this is an area we are looking to improve. The Browse Page has Section C always displaying from the start in order to simplify for users whom don’t want to use Arrange Page or want to use Scaler 3 like Scaler 2.

Showing a timeline in the Browse Page would solve this but clutter the UI - so our solution is to:

  • Show a live ‘Bar’ position when dragging to section C in the Arrange Page
  • Add a Add To Current Position in the right click menu of Section A
  • Display a bar lines and Timeline moving within Section C Arrange

Would love to hear any user suggestions if anyone has any.
