Timeline reference for Main Track in the Create page

When working with the Arrange page, navigation becomes difficult when switching back to the Create page.

Example workflow:

I create chords in the Main Track on the Create page, then use the Arrange page to place those chords on the timeline (for example bars 1–8 and later bars 20–24).

When returning to the Create page, the Main Track there has no timeline reference. There are no bar numbers, playhead indicator, or scene labels. If the arrangement contains multiple sections separated by empty space, it becomes difficult to understand which part of the song the currently visible chords correspond to.

Suggested improvement

Add some form of timeline reference to the Main Track on the Create page, for example:

  • bar/measure numbers

  • playhead position synced with Arrange

  • scene/section labels

  • or automatic scrolling to the current Arrange position

This would make it much easier to navigate between the Create and Arrange pages when working on longer arrangements.

Hi @maxtermac

This has been improved in Scaler 3.3.0. We’ve made a number of enhancements, including:

  • A visible timeline is now available across Browse, Create and Arrange.
  • The playhead is now draggable, and clicking in the Browse Page timeline moves it directly to that position.
  • The Main Track position remains synchronised across all three pages.
  • Browse now shows bar position, bar lines and timeline feedback when working in Section C.
  • Selected-chord behaviour has been made consistent across Browse, Create and Arrange.

You can download the 3.3.0 installers from Scaler Music (under My Products).

You can also check out the complete changelog and our video covering the new features. Cheers.
