Just wanted to let you know that we’ve made a new video demonstrating the use of Scaler 3 Passages in a few tracks I’ve made. There’s also a sneak peak at the new ‘Scenes’ feature due in Scaler 3.2 November 25!

Passages are great, and Scenes are my dream coming true. Even easier than I imagined. Will they be synchronized with so-called Regions in a DAW or will it be necessary defining them separately - Scenes in Scaler and Regions in a DAW?
Hey @Miki, Scenes are just a collection of tracks in Scaler that can be copied, duplicated, moved, and rearranged. It makes it so much easier to work in sections. Really does make the Arrange page MUCH more manageable, and it’s so much fun as you can have lots of different ideas side by side. There’s plenty more to reveal, but you can even bind a scene so you are only triggering those chords within!
Watched this yesterday, really impressed, this will certainly make it easier to complete a song. I think when Scaler 3 was first released a lot of users me included were concerned with the different workflow to 2, but the more I get into it and with these updates dropping regularly this is certainly a very powerful tool and I can’t thank you enough for it.
Just some ramblings. We all know Scaler 3 was a significant change in regards to workflow verses prior versions. Unfortunately, so significant that it alienated a lot of users ( me included) who did not fully understand the changes. But with this video I feel I see what is going on…
David shows us how new features are being introduced. He gives us a view of his workflow in Scaler 3. Viewing this video, I now understand that the developers have designed Scaler 3 to accomodate their unique and individual workflows in sound production. This answers my long asked question, who is this program designed for?
Fact is, as a current user, I have to admit my workflow in Scaler has always been fully “self designed”. Meaning, I don’t always really know what to do in this app or when to do it. To defend myself (and others like me), I am involved in all the aspects of my music creation. That means I create, write, produce, perform, engineer, arrange, mix, master and release all my musical offerings. So my problem with Scaler Workflow, since the release of Scaler 3, has been when do I involve Scaler 3 in my process (workflow)?
I still don’t have the answer to that question, but I am enjoying the journey that Scaler is taking me on.
I always liked Scaler 2 (of course) and I used very often Patterns to fill the “Regions“ in Reaper, which represented Verse, Chorus, solo, etc. And this is how I mainly used it.
Patterns were remarkable , but extremely limited. Seven patterns of eighth chords were not enough for me.
Scaler 3 introduced “unlimited” number of chords to use, but it was super complicated to define my sections (Patterns, Regions, you name it). I could not select a group of chords, give them a name (Verse/Chorus/whatever), so I found a few workarounds, but they were not ideal.
And I was patiently waiting for something that Davide mentioned (still not announced) a few months ago: Scenes. I was hopeful, but a bit afraid. Afraid of what, you can ask.
Afraid that this would be something I did not understand nor found useful in Ableton (I think it was called “clips”) and why my experience with this DAW finished after a few hours of trying, missing and more than anything, frustrating.
And I was delighted when I watched Davide’s video yesterday and found that Scenes are so user-friendly (ok, ok, “Miki-friendly” 
), just what I hoped. They are as flexible as Patterns, but unlimited in length, equaly easy to move or remove, or to rename.
I am not professional musician, I just cannot live without music (but I do not live of music). It fills my life with joy, changes meaningless days to meaningful. I used to start with Scaler 2, finding chords that match a guitar solo I had in my head, combining chords and Patterns, finishing my songs (mixing, mastering), eventually posting a song or two on SoundCloud or YouTube. And this will become even easier in Scaler 3 starting with version 3.2. My workflow will resemble to the one in Scaler 2, but with more options, more possibility to do experiences and easier than ever (very “Miki-friendly”).
