Tons of missing or incomplete features compared to Scaler 2. You can’t even see what chord you’re playing on the keyboard anymore, which is a huge step back. No scrollbar in certain windows, so if you don’t have a scroll wheel… tough luck. The DAW imitation is really poor, and you can’t even relocate the library to an external drive.
On top of that, it’s full of bugs, random crashes, and overall just feels like an early beta thrown out to grab some quick cash. Honestly, this isn’t a finished product by any means.
Scaler 2 is way more stable and better programmed. Should I know this before buying… bad luck for me!
Hi @vince0000 And welcome to the forum. The chord panel display is on its way, the scrolls work fine for our PC beta testers and relocating your library to an external drive will make its way back. We also want to improve the user folder import, multi instance sync and a few other things which we are doing as we speak
We’ve been extensively testing Scaler 3 for months across a large range of beta testers, influencers, artists and composers. Honestly for me there are two known hard crashes (no one outside of our beta team has found them yet) and some quirks. Sure, users are reporting crashes and most of them are resolved by rebooting, the others we are always investigating.
I think it’s a stable and solid release and I can tell you there are thousands and thousands of people using it and loving it. Many of those would disagree with some of your comments. YouTube is probably your best place to see evidence of that.
Thanks for your response, I really appreciate it, and I trust things will improve with time. That said, right now, at the time of release, it still feels like a beta version to me.
For example, the scrollbar is missing. I understand it works for single presets, but what about folder navigation? I use an older Apple mouse with a broken scroll wheel, it only scrolls down. Once I scroll past the initial folders, I can’t go back up unless I re-click the menu entirely. That’s not ideal.
Also, yesterday I opened Scaler 3 and it was stuck playing an arpeggio every time I triggered chords. I spent over 15 minutes trying to figure out what was wrong before giving up and restarting the app.
Please don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love Scaler 2. I use it in every session. I was genuinely excited to start working with Scaler 3, but right now… I just can’t. It’s frustrating.
