Scaler 3 Update & Crash Files

I’m experiencing issues with ScalerAudio 3 in Ableton Live.

Audio Detection – I’m using ScalerAudio3 (VST3),AU on an audio track in Ableton. The plugin shows incoming audio signal in the meter, but when I press the “Detect Audio” button, it doesn’t detect any chords from the audio playing in the track.
Drag-and-Drop Not Working – I’m also unable to drag and drop audio files into the plugin. The UI doesn’t respond, and the drop zone doesn’t appear.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Verified that I’m using ScalerAudio3, not the instrument version.
Ensured audio material is harmonic vocal, pad etc
Resized the plugin window to reveal the drop zone.
Attempted drag/drop from both Finder and Ableton browser.
Confirmed the plugin version is up to date.
Tried routing audio directly and through a dedicated track.
Confirmed input signal is showing in Scaler’s mixer.
System Info:

OS:sequoia 15.2
DAW: Ableton Live 12.1.11
Scaler Version: 3.
Plugin Format: VST3 scaler, AU scaler 3
Please let me know if there’s a known issue or additional steps I can try.

Hi @Avit Welcome to the forum. There’s an issue with Audio Detection in 3 1.0.6 on Mac. Being resolved now and a fix is due in a week or two. See [this thread].(Audio Detection Not Working as expected in Scaler 3 version 1.0.6 - #9 by davide)
Also Drag and Drop Audio and MIDI onto the UI is coming too. Stay tuned.

Hi @yvon.k. Thanks for your post – I moved it to this thread. I wasn’t able to reproduce a crash when editing MIDI notes with Scaler 3 v1.0.7 in Logic Pro 11.1.2 on my M1 Mac. Could you please share a crash report and some details about your setup? That’ll help our dev team investigate further. Cheers.

Hi @hotf. Thanks for your post and for taking the time to share a video. We weren’t able to reproduce this crash on Windows in Live 12 using Scaler 3 version 1.0.7.

If you’re also on v1.0.7, it would be really helpful if you could share a crash report so we can look into it further.

If you’ve experienced repeated crashes, we also recommend trying a clean reinstall – just to rule out any lingering issues from an earlier version. Cheers.

SCALER 3.0.7 + ABLETON - CRASHES

I just installed the latest update for Scale 3.
I created a basic sequence in the standalone version, then when I want to open it in Ableton it crashes the DAW. Right after, if I want to open the standalone version it opens and automatically shuts down.
Is anyone else experiencing something like this? BTW I’m running the latest version of AL.

The update still causes Reason to crash. I inserted an Arturia plugin in the main chord track then created an Arturia bass follower track. Everything played fine for about ten seconds, then the chord track muted and then it crashed.

SC 3.07 VST Live Crash

After a clean install but no VST scan using SC3 in Live. After creating a progression, changed to Arrange view and added a bass. After a couple of playthroughs, SC3 crashed.

Scaler 3 Standalone crashes when trying to load Waves VST3 plugin

[Edited: Typo correction and addition of log from Scaler 3 plugin scanning of Waves VST3 plugins]

Scaler 3 Standalone (v1.0.7.ad51f1c) freezes and eventually crashes when trying to load Waves VST3 plugin in Windows 11. The same plugins load without problems in other DAWs, such as Cubase 14 Pro.

Using Scaler 3 as plugin in e.g. Cubase 14 Pro and trying to load a Waves VST3 plugin freezes the Cubase DAW, and also renders the complete Windows 11 slow and somewhat unresponsive. The only way out was to perform Ctrl+Alt+Del and “Sign Out” to forcefully close all applications.

I see so far no issues loading other vendors VST3 plugins in Scaler 3.

Scaler trial keeps crashing for me in standalone mode with MacOS 15.3, even after a reinstall and full system restart. It’s slightly more stable as a plugin in Ableton, but still unreliable. I haven’t been able to properly test the trial yet which is frustrating.
