Scaler 3 Update & Crash Files

scaler 3.1.0.7.61dd515 win 11 crashes cubase pro 14.0.30 upon closing

Hi
I open scaler 3 as a VST3 instrument. When finished, I close the project which crashes cubase 14.
I have several other projects, which do not include Scaler, it does not crash.

Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 24H2
Installed on ‎5/‎27/‎2025
OS build 26100.4202
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.107.0

Thx
Garry Jones
See attached.

Cubase 14.0.30 64bit2025.6.7 13.01.31.197.dmp (1.6 MB)

That Windows 11 scaler clean install seemed to work.
Thx

Hi Garry – glad to hear that worked, and welcome to the forum.

Scaler 3 Version 3.0.7 crashed my win11Pro PC. I lost the whole project I was working on because of it.

I lost the whole project I was working on because of it. So angry!

Really sorry to hear – that’s understandably frustrating. Could you please attach the full crash report? That will help our devs get a clearer picture of what caused the issue. Thank you.

Sorry to be adding more fuel to the fire, but I am also having frequent crashes with both the standalone and plugin versions of the latest version of Scaler 3. I followed the instructions, above, for doing a clean install and that made no difference. I’m on a Mac Studio M1 Ultra with 128 GB or Ram running OS 15.5. My DAW is the latest version of Digital Performer 11.3.4.

My system crashed again.

As soon as I posted about my last crash in Bitwig, I tired to open the standalone app (so I can at least compose some things) and now the standalone app will not run-- it crashes immediately every time I try to open it. I reset my computer and the same result. I was able to find the following “Application Error” in the Event Viewer, hopefully this is helpful:

Please let me know if there’s any additional info from that would be useful to help troubleshoot. Thanks.

I’ve never been able to run Scaler 3 for more than 3 mins in Bitwig (5.2.7) since intially intalling months ago–very frustrating as I’ve done the clean install over and over each time there’s been a new incremental release. Unfortunately, I still have the same issue each time making Scaler unusable, except in standalone mode (which I recently discovered).

Typically the crash occurs either when I load a preset (saved project that I managed to salvage before a crash) or when am on the arranger page and I select chords at the top (but I don’t think that is always the case).

I’m not sure how to find any specific system logs but was able to find errors in Bitwig’s log:

THe info above was from a few weeks ago-I forgot to post. Since then I am still unable to run Scaler 3 in Bitwig. I’ve been able to run it in standalone mode. After doing that successfully yesterday, however, I just loaded a new project and as soon as I opened the saved preset to continue working on the track in Bitwig, Scaler crashed. Here’s the recent crash info in the Bitwig log:

Hoping someone can help me get things up and running finally. Please let me know if there is more useful logs/info I can provide to figure this out (and where to find them). Thanks!!

Using Scaler 3.1.0.7 with Cubase Pro 14.0.32.
Just doing some editing in scaler there and I got the "serious error’ message.

Hi @macster. Thanks for the report - I moved your post here. Please try a clean install to Scaler 3.1 to see if that resolves the error for you. If the problem persists, feel free to share the .dmp here and our dev team will investigate. Cheers.

Unfortunately, after installing Scaler 3.1, it crashes when I launch it from my DAW.
This happened with all DAWs, including Ableton 12, Cubase 14, and FL-Studio.
Is this only happening with the Japanese version of the DAW?
I’ll wait for a patch.
