Hello Everyone,
I bought the upgrade to Scaler 3. Great job!
Just wish there was Midi Out for Standalone, then I’m able to use it in all of my workflows and gear.
Thanks in advance!

+💯 for Multitrack Midi out. It is essential for my main workflow which is controlling my hardware synths and groove boxes. When the standalone hosting features were revealed I couldn’t wait to control my Digitone 2 without having to fire up Logic, Overbridge and all of the other creativity killing admin of production.
I just want to continue using my gear without a DAW. Scaler standalone is perfect for this except it isn’t. Yet.
support, need this feature too.
@davide is aware of this feature but the demand needs to be high before it’s added to Scaler 3, so all lovers of hardware synths and samplers let @davide know you desperately need this feature.
It also aides in Scaler’s ability to be a live performance tool by removing an extra layer of complexity (the DAW) that could cause issues when performing live.
It’s high on my list too. It wasn’t that straightforward and we didn’t want to mess it up. I hope from my videos you can see I am a synth lover too. I use it within DAW and use an external instrument plugin but can see Standalone users would love this.
Yes it is a must for the program to support this.
+1
The same “no MIDI out” limitations apply within a DAW as far as I can tell.
That is, Scalar 3 allows me to use my own softsynths within Scalar 3, but the MIDI routing of Scalar’s performance features doesn’t work (Reaper on MacOS).
Follow up re: VST. My issue was resolved by using the correct (non-audio) version of the VST.
+1 for standalone midi out.
I’d much rather just open the App rather than setting up my DAW to send midi to my hardware.
Installed 3.1, still no midi output!
Surely this is a basic thing?
Back to not using it, maybe 3.2 will have it, who knows.
Not many people here complaining so maybe not.
Andy, this sounds crazy! Of course there is midi out in the standalone. You can drag and drop or output to a midi file or you can route each individual track to its own external synth. You may need to clarify what you are trying to do.
OK, I just read the thread, “but the MIDI routing of Scalar’s performance features doesn’t work (Reaper on MacOS).” So it is the performance/motion midi features which is not output. Sorry, I better understand the issue now. I had not run into this issue.
For me this is very important because it is the only way to use ReasonStudios Instruments via the Koshdukai codex and the IAC midi driver on a Mac.
I can’t figure out why it is not working except there is no midi out. Midi out is set to the IAC bus in Scaler StandAlone.
With Sundog midi Studio stand alone the same configuration is working. There I receive data from the tool via the IAC bus
It’s now a priority but not that straightforward. Our standalone users are keen on it so will happen next few months. Appreciate your patience.
I can’t even find a place to set the midi out! Where do I do that?
I only seem to have a pulldown for midi in, which does work.
Good if you can read. Just saw this midi but not reading it properly. https://emoji.discourse-cdn.com/apple/grimacing.png?v=14
Hello,
I’ve just bought the product. Stand alone loads VSTs but does not have MIDI OUT???
Thanks,
Yes so it is. Hopefully they will include this asap. So I can create song ideas in stand alone and just switch the DAW without having a scaler instance in the DAW.
