Scaler 3 iPad “Error Writing to Plugin Cache” Error and Sessions not saving

First thing I see after installing
iPad Mini 6
iPadOS 26

And this happens when I minimize the app and open it again. I have to keep rotating my iPad to fix it

My sessions are not saving

Hey Maxx,

This isn’t something we’ve been able to reproduce internally (including on iPadOS 26), so it may be related to a specific device or install state. The error you’re seeing indicates that Scaler 3 is unable to write to its local cache, which would also explain why sessions aren’t saving.

Could you please try the steps below and let us know how you go?

1. Restart the iPad

  • Fully power off and restart (not just sleep/wake)

2. Check storage

  • Go to Settings → General → iPad Storage
  • Ensure you have at least a few GB free

3. Reinstall Scaler 3

  • Delete the app
  • Restart the iPad again
  • Reinstall from the App Store

4. Test a basic save

  • Open Scaler 3 (standalone, not inside a host)
  • Create a simple chord track
  • Try saving a preset/session immediately

5. Let us know:

  • iPad model (e.g. iPad Mini 6)
  • iPadOS version
  • Whether this happens in standalone, AUv3, or both
  • Whether any saves work at all (presets vs sessions)

Hello thanks for replying,

Reinstalling scaler fixed everything.

I was using iPad Mini 6 on iPadOS 26.3.1
It only happened when I was using standalone
