I’ve had several issues with notes not stopping correctly, leading to hanging. They are intermittent and/or context specific and I don’t have time to go into detail. I shared a video here a while back demonstrating one such case. In a related matter, I just posted this to an iOS AU3 group on FB, and wanted to share it here as I think Scaler 3 may well be the culprit…
Please help with my MIDI woes.
I’ve just found Audio Evolution Mobile and I love it.
I use Scaler 3, cos it’s got some awesome composition tools.
I host Scaler 3 in Loopy Pro, cos I want to send separate channels to separate tracks, which you can’t do if Scaler 3 is a MIDI processor inside AEM.
Loopy Pro lets me sync AU3 MIDI Processors with external clock. This Makes me happy.
AUM (not AEM) does not allow this. This makes me sad.
When I stop the transport on AEM, the LP hosted Scaler 3 transport stops, but… the current notes hang. I have to go into hosted Scaler 3 and hit MIDI kill every time I want to stop AEM’s transport. This makes me sad.
Loopy Pro’s own MIDI kill inside the cog dialogue for Scaler 3 does not kill the MIDI.
The need for clock sync means AUM can not be used as an alternative.
I don’t know for sure if the issue lies with Scaler 3 or with Loopy Pro.
Complex stuff huh?
I’m thinking of buying ApeMatrix as an alternative to Loopy Pro for hosting Scaler 3, but I don’t want to unless I know it will solve my problem.
Audiobus is not an option because of the subscription.
Can anyone grok all that and give me some advice please?
