Scaler 3 and Protools to play another instrument

Hello all and sorry in advance if I’m missing something obvious.
I would like to use Scaler3 to send its midi to another Instrument track in Protools (I’m running 2024.10.1).
So far I was not able to do it.
I tried loading the VI just after Scaler3 in the Insert slots, nothing.

I tried routing using a sort-of-bridge Midi track, nothing (actually it works with Scaler 2 but not with 3..). The setting is: Scaler3 to Midi track to destination Instrument track.

I tried using the instrument I/O on top of Inserts in the Instrument track, but somehow individual targets are always greyed out because, it says, track is in Chain mode…

I didn’t have issues with Scaler 2 and Protools.

Do you have anything come to mind for sorting this out?

Hi @sicijk. You can find a Scaler 3 MIDI routing guide for various DAWs including Pro Tools on the Documents and Resources page in this forum. Have a look through and see if that helps you get things working properly.

Thanks! I followed that infact I was quite confident it should work. But somehow I believe it’s a protools related bug. Sometimes the destination track doesn’t let me choose the scaler out. So I was asking…
Then today I tried to reboot ProTools and the routing now appears…I don’t know where the problem is in protools though.
It should be a bug..
