Need some help to create a simple Scaler 3 workflow

hey all

Noob here and I’d love to finally put Scaler into use in a way that fits the way I usually compose.
More practically I’d love to find out how to do each step in Scaler

Step 1:
I pick a scale based on Mood

Step 2:
at this point I noddle around the scale and come up with a chord I like (nailing the voicing for me is king)

And I’m currently stuck here: don’t know how to let Scaler 3

1- detect the chord I chose (the one I’m currently playing on my keyboard with the exact voicing)
2- add it to a cell
3- rename the chord if necessary (sometimes Scaler (just a random example) displays Amin7 but based on the MIDI notes should be named E/Amin7)

any help?

  • right click on Record
  • switch to Detect MIDI
  • press Record
  • Play

It’ll populate cells accordingly and can be dragged
