Moving Scaler3 track (midi) to Reaper track

MIDI newbie here. Created a chord progression in Scaler3 with/for Soundpaint’s Majestic Strings as Scaler’s instrument. It plays back perfectly smooth in Scaler.

I then used the drag & drop midi from Scaler to a Reaper track. It doesn’t doesn’t sound the same. Mainly sounds and looks like the midi notes are cut up

HI Randy. If you have a motion active in Scaler 3, be sure to disable that after dragging the MIDI from Scaler 3 to Reaper. Assuming you are using Scaler 3 to playback the MIDI.

Hey Randy. Reaper User here, and here’s how I set up my output on the Scaler 3 track.

  1. Select the output record tab on the Scaler Track shown in photo.
  2. Navigate down the menu to record MIDI output and select it. Now, when you trigger the locked chords in Scaler 3 while recording, they will appear on your track.

Looks like you’re on a slightly older Reaper version? I’m on v7.44 as I do not see the same tab arrangement you’re referring to in your image. Clicked on everything as this is my first time trying to record anything…ya, I’m a real newbie. lol

Are you talking about something like the ‘Performance’ box lower left right under the ‘Main Track’ being the ‘motion’? If so, that’s what I am using along with my ‘Soundpaint’ vst which I’m using as my internal Scaler 3 instrument because it plays the chords perfectly.
