Mixcraft 10 Pro Studio DAW working with Scaler3.1 Midi Routing

If someone else can verify / test this and clean up the text, perhaps it can be added to the list of MIDI routing DAW compatible solutions that support SYNC and Midi routing to Mixcraft tracks / instruments. Working for me! Following is modified from the Scaler 3.1 DAW document.:

MIDI sourced tracks in Mixcraft is fairly straightforward requiring little configuration when sending MIDI to multiple mono-timbral plugins.

To route MIDI from Scaler 3 tracks to multiple mono-timbral plugins:

  1. First create a Instrument Track and load the Scaler 3 plugin as an instrument. Then assign discrete MIDI output channels for any Scaler 3 tracks from which you’d like to externally route MIDI data and enable the unlabeled button " REC SRC" on this track’s details window.

  2. Then create additional Instrument Tracks in Mixcraft for each of those Scaler 3 tracks, and load mono-timbral instrument plugins and effects as desired in their tracks.

  3. On the track window, record arm each instrument track and click on the arm adjacent down arrow.

  4. In the dialog window that opens, select Scaler3.1 as the MIDI source and select the MIDI channel to provide the appropriate MIDI source from each Scaler 3.1 track to your Mixcraft instrument track.

  5. Repeat to set each Mixcraft mono-timbral instrument track’s MIDI input to your preferred Scaler 3 MIDI output channel.

  6. TROUBLESHOOTING:
    A. It should all be working. If not, make sure the Scaler3.1 plugin is not muted. If you don’t want the Scaler3.1 chords sounding, just lower the output. If you mute Scaler3.1, the Midi is also muted.

B. Also make sure that each Mixcraft track is armed to record!

C. Check that the instrument and any effects are set correctly in Mixcraft,

Hope this is helpful to any Mixcraft owners out there.

cheers - Mike
