I would have included images that perfectly illustrate this issue, but apparently I can’t do that! ![]()
In measures 4 & 5 of the Main Track of the standalone version of Scaler 3, the first measure (m. 4) has an Am7 for the first two beats and D for the second two beats followed by Bm for the entire next measure (m. 5).
I have “Common Perf 2” selected as the Motion. When I play it in Scaler (at least until it crashes!), it plays the appropriate notes for the indicated chords. However, if I export the MIDI and load it into a MIDI track on my DAW, a couple of errors occur.
- The Am7 does not have the 7th (G), it’s just an Am chord.
- All of the chords have a duration of four beats even though the first two are supposed to be only 2 beats long. Thus, the Am chord overlaps the D chord and the D chord overlaps the first two beats of the Bm chord.
This problem is in addition to the crashes that occur when I try to select more than one chord in the Main Track in the Standalone version and the multiple DAW crashes I have when using the plugin version. I thought by working in the standalone and then exporting the MIDI, I could avoid all the plugin issues I’ve been having while you all work on an update, but now I find I can’t even do that without having to spend huge amounts of time editing that export. Needless to say, I’m pretty frustrated right now that I spent good money on what is so far a worthless product for me.
