MIDI chord patterns as control for additional Scalers

I’ve just done the Scaler course. My question is about recording sequences of chords into my DAW (rather than using the sequencing Edit section)

Let’s say I’ve made a few patterns of chords that I have then binded and recorded the sequence into Ableton.

I now want these chords to be the control for how I play an alternative instance of Scaler on a new instrument track. How do I do this?

Many thanks

HI @AdamMozart

Welcome to the forum. I think you are referring to Syncing where you basically have a master Scaler driving other versions of Scaler; is that correct? If so as you have access to the course I will refer you to module 7 which includes a section (section 5) on Syncing.

Hope this helps

Not exactly. So my performance of some binded chords is in midi on a track in Ableton. Do I need to then program this performance into Scaler in order to sync it to other instances of scaler?

The work flow I’m referring to is

  1. I’ve chosen some chords
  2. I’ve hit record and played a sequence in MIDI
  3. I want to play a melody over these chords on another track with key lock on

Thanks
