Midi transmit when playing bind keys

I can’t find anywhere this is mentioned in the manual, but it seems a basic function so thought I’d ask here if this is possible:

If I’ve got a set of chords selected in section B with bind to midi keys switched on, I can jam different progressions but I want to record the chords being played on a separate midi track in Ableton, so I can go back to find one or two progressions I like and edit them into a final midi part. Is that possible? Thanks.

Hi @SimonHo Welcome to the forum. Of course, turn off DAW Sync (Right Click the Play button or in Settings menu) and just record the trigger notes in Ableton. If you want the actual chord you can also use MIDI Capture within Scaler 3.
You can use multiple instances of Scaler 3 this way to record multiple parts. Main Track Sync is coming very soon in 3.2 which will allow all of Section C’s chords to be in sync across all instances of Scaler 3 - particularly useful for Ableton users whom don’t have multi channel midi out support.
Hope that helps.

Hi Davide, thanks for the reply. It was actually my error and very simple to fix - I hadn’t selected Scaler 3 in the 2nd dropdown under MIDI From on the instrument track I wanted to play/record the chords from Scaler

Cheers
Simon
