Make Standalone Scaler 3 easy to save song and open on another pc

With just the sounds in Scaler 3. Maybe also give us a few typical drum loops in the metronome.

I learned now that the preset must only be saved in this folder, (C:\ProgramData\Scaler Music\Scaler 3\Presets\User) but I want to also save it on a usb stick or cloud for a different computer. How about File and Edit menu on top? For us dummies, make a save song button. :smiley:

I’m the same. I use my laptop to sketch things but would love to be able to save on a usb to transfer to my desktop,

Is there some reason why you could not just copy it from the folder where it is located on the laptop to a USB drive, and then copy it to the appropriate folder on your desktop?

Hi all, we’re currently working on improvements to the preset save/load path system, which will be included in a future update.

In the meantime, @martinschiff’s suggestion works well:

  1. Save the preset in the default path. Then copy/back up the files from the default location to a USB drive, cloud storage, etc.
  2. On another machine, paste the files into the same default location.
  3. Open Scaler 3 - the preset will now be available via Presets > User.

Default locations:

  • Windows: C:\ProgramData\Scaler Music\Scaler 3\Presets\User
  • Mac: /Users/[NAME]/Library/Scaler Music/Scaler 3/Presets/User
