Hello,
I’m trying to use Scaler 3 and I’m very confused about one thing that seems quite important to me: how do you tell the software that your want to work in a particular key (G major, B minor…) and have both the chords progressions and explore tools propose things that stick to said key (without locking yourself into using only the basic triads of that key of course).
There are lock buttons at multiple places, but they never seem to be doing what I’m expecting. For example, in explore panel, there is a button to lock into the key of the propose chords, great. Except if I push it, it locks it in C major. If I transpose it with the buttons next to it, then click lock again, it reverts back to C major.
This seems like a very basic thing but I’m clueless right now. I found some things on this forum but it concerned Scaler 2 and I’m not even sure it was addressing this exactly. Same for the official tutorials, I haven’t finished the full series yet but it seems more targeted towards users that have no knowledge in music theory and just want to generate stuff without caring about which root key their song is currently in.
