How to not use arrangement mode?

I’m trying to record a piano part that is loose, and not on the beat. i want to play it in by hand (or in this case, finger) as I can add my own feel with velocity and timing. i then want to record the midi into my DAW - which is Cubase. in Scaler 2 this was easy but in Scaler 3, I cant stop the arranger from playing the chords automatically even if I mute or turn the volume down on the track. One of my concerns about this new arranger mode was that I write music that is not always quantized and on the beat. how is this possible in scaler 3? i apologize if I’m just being dumb but I cant figure it out and its slowing me down.

I think the only way is to write in the arranger midi and then delete the chord track. Would be nice for this whole mess to be drag and drop. Also if we could save edited midi as a motion. I’m currently just using Scaler 3 to find chords and not waste time doing anything else. Have spent big hours on it (using manual) but it’s counter intuitive.

holy cow. I truly thought I was being dumb. It seems like they removed or delayed the addition of features I use regularly, in favour of things I’ll never use. The fun and inspiration of Scaler 2 is the freedom it gives me. Thanks for your reply.

You can run both 2 and 3 in tandem.also without the arrange stuff. 3 explores better but as a like DAW helper not so much. I also miss the 2’s pad and use that too.

Just turn off DAW sync (right click the play button or turn it off In the settings).
Then it behaves exactly like Scaler 2. You could save yourself some frustration by watching the tutorials we made.

I’ve watched all of them multiple times, but my smooth brain can only hold so much information. thank you!
