Greyed out chords don't play in Scaler 3.2.2 in Main Track or Arrange tab

Hi all. I have a few chords outside of the diatonic chords of my chosen scale, that I’d like to be able to play in the Main Track area as well as the Arrange tab. They play when I click on them, but once I start to play the whole sequence, those few greyed out chords do not play at all. It may be something simple that I am missing, but I’d appreciate a hint to get these few greyed out chords to also play. Thanks in advance.

Hi @EduardoMartinez. Are those chords muted? On the Arrange page there is a mute tool (letter M next to the scissor tool). You can use that to mute or un-mute chords.

Thanks for reaching out @Tristan. No, these two chords are not muted, that I can see. I did toggle the Mute button on the Arrange tab, but they still did not play with M on or off. This happens by either playing the chord sequence within Logic Pro with the Scaler 3 plug-in, sync’ed to my timeline, as well as when I independently trigger the chord sequence just in the Scaler plug-in, to verify. I am attaching two screenshots of the Main Scaler plug-in page & the Arrange tab. Both chords will play when separately triggered by just clicking on them, if that helps.

Hi @EduardoMartinez, looking at your screenshots, those chords: Bb dim and D min … do both appear to be muted. Note that the M button on the Arrange page is not a toggle button, but a mute tool selector. After clicking M your cursor changes to an M icon and you can click on chords to mute or unmute them.

Can you try using the mute tool to unmute those two chords and see if that helps?

Hi @Tristan Thanks for that clarification. I am relatively new to Scaler & wasn’t familiar with the Mute tool. Yes, the Mute tool was able to unmute those two chords, even though I don’t know what I may have done to set them up to be muted in the first place. But I’ll be more observant in the future. Is there a way to mute chords from the Main Track? That is where I chose Edit Chord on each of those two chords & they appeared muted later on. I tried editing another chord just now, but it played (unmuted), as it should.

Urgh!
This is why I was unable in the past to unmute them
Not very intuitive IMHO, and I never seen the M icon likely because the faint fonts?

mmm… I actually see the button is called TOGGLE…

and the M icon appears only after howering on it
OK, counter-intuitive but I’ll put a note on it

Yes, @ClaudioPorcellana , that Mute tool tip is confusing.

Shift + click on any chord also toggles mute for them. I am a “shortcut man” so I like this.

I am exactly on the other side, LOL
I am a "-man"

This Shift + click may have been how I accidentally muted those chords before :ok_hand:t5:

We are replacing Shift>Click functionality to multi select and revising that tool tip. That will create music less confusion. Should have a 3.3 Beta soon!
