"Keys Lock Chord Mute"

When I enable the “Keys Lock Chord Mute” option, the chord MIDI data is still output even when I have binding enabled.

Same here. This used to work in Scaler 2.

I presume you are talking about chords in the main track? You can shift>click chords to mute also.

Yes I am, that’s what I’m talking about.

Confirming it works as expected. Just like Scaler 2. You have to have Keys Lock active and use one of the ‘Chord Profiles’

Just tried it out.. thanks!

Would there be any way to have the chords outputted on MIDI channel 1, and the note input (processed through the Keys Lock setting) output on MIDI channel 2 to send to another instrument?

It doesn’t seem to work just like in Scaler 2. In Scaler 2, you only have to press a key to mute the chords from the MIDI output, now it seems like the only way to do that is by muting all the chords one by one in the arranger, unless I’m missing something.

Is there a request feature thread on this forum?

I’d like to request the mute chord key for scaler 3 just like in Scaler 2.
I also can’t seem to mute chords to just play the melodies.

It does work in exactly the same way. You just need to be in Keys Lock Chord Notes/Extensions/Scale mode and it works fine.

Also in the latest version you can select all and mute all chords with one shift>click

Hi @davide

It works after updating to Scaler 3 V1.0.6. It wasn’t clear to me that there was a new Scaler 3 version I had to update to.

However, I also noticed that the mute function only works when playing the Chord sequence within Scaler 3.
I would like to actually trigger the Chord notes on my “keyboard” without hearing them, to then only play the melodies using the “Key Lock” function.

Would it be possible to add back the mute chord key triggers from Scaler 2?

This is also more user-friendly than the “hidden” shift>click workflow (or having to go to the settings for that matter)

In my case, I purely use Scaler to play/record MIDI in my DAW’s piano-roll.
Scaler 3 is really awesome with the built-in piano-roll, but unfortunately, as of yet, we can’t record our custom phrases within Scaler 3.

My understanding is that you guys eventually want to add that feature.
Can’t wait to use Scaler 3’s full functionality when that feature comes out!!!

It’s almost like having the ability to add Cubase’s Chord-Track and Chord-Pad functionality to your DAW of choice.
Imgur
(Which I’ve been trying to replicate with multiple tools since I’ve learned of Cuba’s Chord-Track/Pad functionality)

Many people describe Scaler 3 as an almost DAW replacement. I see it more like a DAW piano-roll replacement (for people like me who can’t yet play the keyboard fluently).
The added arranger track routing functionality made it even more powerful for composing a whole song through Scaler 3.
And the built-in piano-roll tools for transposing MIDI in multiple ways is a BIG PHAT icing on the cake.

I don’t want to be making double forum posts. But should I post my request for the return of Scaler 2’s chord-mute trigger keys?

Hey Isaac. You can. Your Scaler 2 image highlight is referring to key switches - The BIND Area in your S2 shot are the CDEF darkened keys. Maybe what is confusing you is that the sharps are now the trigger keys in S3 (in your S3 image that is C#, D#, F#, G#).

Here’s me triggering via external MIDI (also works via computer keyboard if DAW supports) and the chords are silent
