Daw sync/playback query

Hi folks,

Sorry this is a total noob question but it’s racking my head.

With Scaler 2 I could DAW sync the main track to play back chord progressions, and the length of the chords would be dictated by the DAW’s midi track - Say, 8 bars, with 4 x chords playing 2 x bars each. I could mix-and-match different chords with Bind on, with one note playing in the DAW’s midi track to trigger each chord dragged into Section C - So far so good.

With Scaler 3, this doesn’t happen - The playback in C-Main Track just keeps playing to the end regardless with DAW sync on - But when I turn off DAW Sync the chords just play the midi trigger notes I set in the DAW - Is there a way to KEEP Bind on, but turn off DAW sync?

Say I wanted to play chords at different lengths, but this isn’t possible as C-Main Track just ploughs on to the end?

I wish I could explain this better, I just don’t have the music vocabulary!!

Thanks, Stevie

Hi @Sallz You’re almost there. Just turn DAW Sync off (right click on the play button or in ‘Settings’). You can leave BIND on and record the trigger notes in your DAW. There is also another option in Scaler 3 which is to leave DAW Sync on and use the internal Scaler 3 loop to loop around your chords which can be any length. It’s worth taking the time to watch some tutorials they can be very helpful!

Thanks Davide, that’s much appreciated. I’m well up and running with the Arrange page too.

Cheers from Scotland!
