Carbon Electra 2 - macOS Activation

Hi All,

Just purchased the CE2 upgrade on Plugin Boutique. I registered on the Scalermusic website and it generated a license.

However, when I make an instance of CE2 in Ableton Live I get a “Cryptlex configuration failed” error and can do nothing. Cannot activate or start trial.

I’m on a Mac Tahoe and Ableton Live both the most recent versions.

Hi @whistletom Yes it seems certain macOS users are having some issues. We are trying to identify it but for now here is a workaround! As soon as we zap it we will get a hot fix out. Hopefully today! Apologies!

Please check that you have a ‘Carbon Electra 2’ folder in your user Library at ~/Library/Scaler Music/Carbon Electra 2.

If not, quit your DAW, then please manually create a ‘Carbon Electra 2’ folder inside ~/Library/Scaler Music/, then open your DAW and try the activation/trial again.

Tip: The Library folder is hidden by default. To access it, open Finder, click Go in the menu bar, and hold the Option (⌥) key to reveal Library. (edited)

@whistletom I was one of the Mac users that had an authentication issue on MacOS. For my own interest, what version of MacOS are you running - I am MacOS Tahoe 26.5

Hi all this has been hot fixed for Mac users (did not affect PC users) so CE 2.0.1 now available in your Scaler Music account. if you are not affected no need to download. Good news we have a 2.0.2 across the board with some goodies next week!

The fact I got running with a workaround are you suggesting I don’t need to run 2.0.1?

Or could 2.0.1 ‘fix’ the trackpad issues I am experiencing?

No, no need to install 2.0.1 - wait for 2.0.2 macOS and PC !
