Can’t access mixer after opening midi piano roll

Once I open midi piano roll, there is no way to re open mixer. Other than closing and starting app from scratch.

Do you mean that you cannot open MIDI Editor? Can you give some more details about your system: CPU, OS, DAW…

no, its the other way around. I can open midi editor but once it’s open, I can’t close it and open mixer to change plugins, vst instrument etc. anymore. It’s in standalone Scaler 3 for Mac.

Unfortunately, I am not Mac user so I cannot help you. but there are some of advanced users who use Mac and they will be able to check.

How do you close the midi editor on Windows? Maybe its a UX problem, and there is some shortcut I’m missing? I expect to just click outside midi clip and see the mixer but it doesn’t work like that.

I don’t close it. I just toggle MIDI Editor above.

this is how it looks on Mac, there are no such icons.

damn, they are there, just noticed, next to piano keyboard. Silly me! Thanks for helping!!!

My pleasure. Enjoy in this gem.

My eyes are not as good as they were in the morning, but I don’t see any difference.

I have the same problem. But unlike your example, I don’t see any Mixer icon by the keyboard. I do have 3 tracks up. Main, Bass, and Phrases.

For the life of me, I can’t find the mixer in Arrange page

Hi @woodchuck, welcome to the forum.

Is this because you’ve loaded Scaler 3 Control (the MIDI FX plugin format)? If so, it’s normal not to see the mixer, as Scaler Control can’t host instruments - it only passes MIDI through to your instrument.

To see the mixer, load the instrument version of Scaler 3 or open it in standalone.

If you’ve already done this, please share a screenshot and some details about your setup (OS, DAW, etc.) so we can help you better. Cheers.
