On the Browse page, I can select the scale I want in Section B.
But, when I try different chord progressions in Section A, it uses other scales, especially C major.
How do I get Section A to use the scale I chose in Section B?

Hi @MSound Welcome to the forum.
Im surprised at how many times this confuses our users. We now have an onboard tutorial which explains this and lots of videos too. Worth checking out. Hit the lock button to the right of Section A and it will lock the chords to your current scale when browsing Section A!
Thank you for the quick reply!!! That works.
If so many folks are asking about it, then maybe that is a clue that this default is not intuitive. Seems to make more sense for it to lock in the chosen scale by default so that the whole Browser page is coordinated.
FYI, I started with the YouTube tutorial playlist for Scaler 3. I only completed the first one and did not see this mentioned in it. Maybe I missed the onboarding tutorial.
Ha! Yes agreed! We’ve simplified it now and the Onboard Tutorial and updated manual makes a point of clarifying it early (please ensure you are running the latest version).
We have wondered about this but then would lose the flavour and various colours in all of the chord sets and everything would sound samey. Other option is we have a rule that:
After a scale has been selected and a user browses chord sets in section A, pop up window asks ‘Would you like to browse chord sets in your currently selected scale?’ but that would get annoying!
Ah, that makes sense.
How about a choice in the top left of Section A where it says All Scales. Add 2 radio button choices for All Scales or The One I Choose in Section B.
And then hold that as the default the next time Scaler is opened.
