Chord sets locked to chosen scale

Hi, just wondering if someone can point me in the right direction with this …

How do I get the chord progression to reflect the same progression (eg I,V,VII,IV) but in the scale I want to work in. I want to choose a scale and then choose a chord progression from Scaler 3’s library.

This is what I’m currently doing; I choose a scale by first highlighting the roof note in section A and then decide on one of the scale options given in section B. I then go back to section A and open the chord progression options and choose one. BUT the scale is immediately changed back to C major and the chord progressions are all in C.

Further, even if I then go back to the options for scales given in section B and choose the scale I want the chord progression stays the same (ie still the C based chords) but the number value (I, IV, VII etc) changes to reflect the new scale.

I know there must be a way to lock the scale, I’m certain I’ve seen it done in a tutorial somewhere, but cat find a button or where to do it.

Help would be appreciated.

Hi @Katentek. There is a scale lock button to the right of Section A which you can use to lock chord sets to your selected scale. When this is disabled, chord sets will retain their original scale. This scale will be automatically detected when the chord set is chosen and set as your selected scale.

With scale lock enabled, chord sets will be transposed to your selected scale, so your selected scale will not change. Note you do need to select a chord set after enabling scale lock as it will not transpose your currently selected chord set. However we are changing this behaviour in an upcoming update to be more intuitive
