Hello, I am using ableton 12 on windows and im having an issue with my plugins showing up. IDK i see that like 600ish plugins are detected and it all seems to be scanning correct. But im only seeing waves plugins and no serum or kontakt etc. Anyone have a fix? Thanks.
Hi @matteso welcome to the forum. First would you mind confirming if you have updated Scaler 3 to v1.0.7?
Several users have reported Serum 2 not being successfully detected by hosts such as Scaler 3, and this is being investigated. You should have no issues with other plugins such as Kontakt.
Quite often plugin scanning issues on Windows are on account of Windows permissions issues with the Scaler 3 folder. You can try performing the plugin scan when running Scaler 3 standalone as an administrator by right clicking on the Scaler 3 executable and choosing ‘run as administrator’.
If your plugins are still not detected, it might be wise to perform a clean install, then attempt the standalone plugin scan as described above, in case any previously generated plugin scan related files are causing errors.
PC - Clean Install:
- Delete the standalone state file in this folder: C:\Users[NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Scaler 3\ Scaler 3.settings
- Delete the personalised files in this folder: C:\ProgramData\Scaler Music\Scaler 3
- Delete the shared user files in this folder: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Scaler Music\Scaler 3
- Reinstall.
