Whenever I try dragging midi from Scaler (MacOs) to any folder (or DAW), I get the following error
The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8058).
I checked the console and I see this error
“FPOperation returned an error: Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=257 “The file “Scaler 3 Midi.mid” couldn’t be opened because you don’t have permission to view it.” UserInfo={NSURL=file:///.file/id=6571367.7048488, NSFileProviderErrorItemName=Scaler 3 Midi.mid, NSUserStringVariant=Move}”
I’ve given Scaler 3 Full Disk Access but this doesn’t resolve it
Any ideas? I’ve tried entirely uninstalling (per instructions in this forum)
Yes we get this too. This is something we are trying to figure out as it only happens in MacOS Sequoia and not limited to Scaler but other programs too. You can drag elsewhere or save to the desktop as a workaround. I think this fix will come with a MacOS Sequoia update.
Scaler 2 works fine - I can drag to a track in my DAW or to the desktop with no issues.
I tried Scaler 3 as a VST but get the same error when dragging to the Desktop. I get no error when dragging to a track in Maschine but it also doesn’t work, but it does work when I drag midi to a track in Presonus Studio One, either from the standalone app or as a VST.
Any chance there is an update on this one as updated to the last version of Scaler 3 and sadly can still reproduce what has been said before whenever dragging midi from scaler to either my Finder or Maschine
Welcome to the forum @Mastercutwinch See known Issues.
Drag and Drop to Sequoia fixed in 3.1 due very soon and Drag and Drop to Maschine currently being investigated and potentially also addressed in 3.1
