Scaler Detector 1.1.0 Update Now Available

Hi all, just wanted to let you know that if you own Scaler Detector it’s worth updating as we have just released an update which is now available in your account at My Products - Scaler Music

Scaler Detector 1.1.0 (Released May 6, 2026)

This update focuses on MIDI reliability improvements, updated settings access and general maintenance updates.

  • Fixed an issue related to the Windows MIDI server.
  • Added settings access from the top-right hamburger/drop-down menu.
  • Merged the latest shared codebase from Scaler 3 desktop/iPad.
  • Updated the user guide.
  • Updated the Scaler Detector logo.
  • Updated the standalone desktop app icon.

I have never been a huge fan of a strange, unfriendly, you name it, Detect option with a bizarre panel in Scaler 3:

In fact, I hated it.

But I did not use often Scaler Detector, although it looked more user friendly.

So, I tried it today, after a long time, and found it quite nice.

And then, I tried to drag detected chords from Detector to Scaler and the magic happened. The chords were simply copied from one to another and I was able to do with them whatever I was used to do in Scaler. Can you just add “Select all”, as in scaler. It will be easier to copy them to Scaler. Copy (from Detector) and paste (to Scaler) would be also helpful.

MIDI detection is excellent. I should try to detect audio with my guitar while it gently wheeps :joy: My previous experiences were so-so. After one surprise, maybe I’ll have another!

Hey @Miki Yes the UI is much more obvious and more friendly! We are actually bringing this to Scaler 3. Hopefully in 3.3!
Not much point adding a three dot select menu in Detector as it would imply you could paste it internally I feel, like suggesting something it won’t do and also cluttering the simple UI. I think the lasso and drag and drop is more obvious but let me discuss with the creative team!

When there is a huge progression, lasso will fail after maybe twenty or so detected chords. There are already both, “All Chords” and lasso in the section A in Scaler. Having both in Detector would be consistent.
