Hello @ all. Scaler 3 in standalone mode, as well as Cubase 14 Pro, crashes when selecting instruments via Halion 7 (Steinberg) as VST 3. It works when selected in Audio Unit, but you can’t use the VST 3 instrument, which is located as an instrument track in the project. It only works as a playback function; it’s not useful for arranging.

Es ist zwar so, dass Scaler Cubase zum Absturz bringt, was eigentlich nicht passieren dürfte. Allerdings habe ich das nur herausgefunden, weil ich einen falschen Workflow angewendet habe. Ich kann nun mit der Midiausgabe von Scaler als Midieingang jeden Kanal vom Halion 7 ohne Probleme zum Arrangieren nutzen.

Based on the information available here, this issue appears limited to a specific HALion 7 VST3 workflow, rather than indicating a broader issue with Scaler 3 itself. It’s also good to hear you’ve found a stable workflow using Scaler’s MIDI output.

If I am using HALion 7.5 as an external instrument via MIDI, it seems that none of the built-in Scaler 3.3 mixer functions work, which is ok, but also multiple binding is ignored. I have to make all these changes on the HALion multitrack UI.
Is there any way to improve the workflow finally with HALion 7.5, including the embedded use inside Scaler? Maybe a little cooperation with Steinberg could easily fix this annoying crash, when trying to load HALion 7.5 VST3 version inside Scaler 3.3.
HALion Sonic 7.5 works fully functional, so there should not be a major issue.
I am using it inside Bitwig Studio Win version, all is VST3.
