Can I firstly congratulate all the team behind Scaler 3 and thank them for the new improvements. Great Job !
What i really like is the streamlined structure especially for saving files. Mine is able to import my files from Scaler 2. It’s much less distracting and more focussed allowing you to get on with the important stuff without getting distracted. The file saving and the patterns saving in Scaler 2 allowed you to go off course and keep too much which encouraged too much deviation, distraction and clutter to the point that I was saving far too much useless stuff which I hardly ever returned to.
Scaler 3 is more focussed and there is less distraction in my opinion. I much prefer Scaler 3 methods.Insttead of choosing 7 patterns I seem to be more focussed on getting the one pattern right and then clicking the Like button so it’s easy to go back to when you need it. This will force me to be much more selective when I import my previous chord sets saved in Scaler 2.
So on that theme I have just one question as to where on my computer are the Imported files being stored? I am a PC user (Windows) but I can’t find the address where the imported files are located. I’ve been through my system without finding it. Reason I need this is to keep things focussed and tidy on my system so that I’m not scrolling through unnecessary or out of date chord sets that I should maybe have deleted or considered unsuccessful.
Go to the ProgramData Folder (Unhide if Hidden) - Scaler Music - Scaler 3 - Chordsets - Imported.
Drag your Scaler 2 chord set folders in the Imported Folder, or Copy/Paste the folders, so as to leave the Originals where they are.
You might have to create the Chordset Folder and Imported Folder if you don’t see them. Or Import One chordset via Scaler 3, and it should create those Folders
Yes thanks. I just found it myself, well stumbled on it by chance. It’s that hidden file Program Data that you can never locate. But thanks for the quick response.
To save you trawling through that rather long post, on a Mac it is at:
‘/Users/zzrwood/Library/Scaler Music/Scaler 3/ChordSets’
where zzrwood is your user name.
The User Library is hidden by default - you can access it by option-clicking the ‘Go’ menu in the Mac Finder…
I wanted to reach out to see if what I am experiencing is a bug or if there is a way to fix this. I imported a chordset into Scaler 3 but then decided to rename it. I thought this would update in Scaler 3 but it didn’t so I reuploaded it to see if it would replace the chordset with the new one. Now I have both (old name and new name) and would really like to only have the more detailed one.
Is there any way to delete a chordset from within Scaler 3 or refresh to update the current chordsets Scaler 3 is pulling from? Thank you in advance for your help and I apologize if this is common knolwegde. I am new here and still getting used to everything.
